Things are escalating on the northern front. On Wednesday morning, Hezbollah launched over 200 rockets at northern Israel, this was one of their largest barrages since the Gaza war started. It was Hezbollah’s revenge in response to the killing of senior commander Sami Talib Abdullah. On Tuesday, the Israel Air Force (IAF) eliminated Abdullah in southern Lebanon.

In the attack, Hezbollah targeted military bases and an arms factory. These attacks hint that things are escalating quickly between the two sides. Both say that they’re prepared for an all-out war with each other. You can read more about Abdullah’s elimination by the IAF in this article.

Hezbollah has said that they’re exchanging fire in support of the Palestinian group Hamas. The US and other countries have designated both Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorist groups.

Israel and Hezbollah have been exchanging fire since the Gaza conflict started in October last year. If things continue at this pace, there may soon be a war between the two. Israel is already fighting on multiple fronts: with Hamas in Gaza and with the proxies of Iran. An all-out war with Hezbollah will open another front in the north and further divide the Israeli forces.

Rocket Barrages of Hezbollah Cause Fire In North

Hezbollah fired 215 rockets, according to the Israel Defense Force (IDF). Because of the barrages of rockets, alarms sounded in northern Israel. The air defense systems intercepted many rockets, but several landed and caused fires. However, northern Israel reported no casualties.

Following the barrage of 215 rockets by Hezbollah, alerts were flooding the phones of civilians and residents of northern Israel. This has been the story of Israelis for the last nine months. Residents can be seen taking cover amidst Hezbollah’s rocket barrages in many videos of the footage. Hostilities have already displaced thousands of people from both sides on the northern border between Israel and Lebanon.
