India’s Paralympic women’s singles table tennis campaign came to an end on Wednesday, with silver medalist Bhavinaben Patel losing 3-1 against China’s Ying Zhou in the class 4 quarterfinals. Bhavinaben, India’s first-ever medal winner in the sport with her silver in the Tokyo Paralympics, battled valiantly in the first two games and even won the third before losing to her Chinese adversary 12-14, 9-11, 11-8, 6-11. Sonalben Patel, the other women’s singles player in class 3, fell to Croatia’s Andela Muzinic Vincetic in the round of 16.

In the women’s doubles, Bhavinaben and Sonalben were eliminated in the quarterfinals by the Korean team of Young A Jung and Sunghye Moon, missing out on a medal.
