During Bhai Dooj, the Bhikshatana Maha Yagya was initiated by the parliament to purify the Yamuna river. This awareness campaign by Ravi Shankar Tiwari, the convener of Yamuna Parliament and Yamuna Monk, will continue until next year’s Bhai Dooj. It aims to take the issue of Yamuna to every household in the Braj region and will reach places like Delhi’s IIT and Chhath Ghat. The campaign started with a yajna and the blowing of conch shells by the All World Gayatri Family on Sunday morning.
Nationalist thinker KN Govindacharya, storyteller Ajay Bhai Ji, members of Namdhari and Nirankari communities, Nadi Samvad, Vishwa Jagriti Mission, Delhi Panchayat Sangh, 360 Khap Panchayats, various political, social, religious, and business groups, along with numerous educators and learners from diverse educational institutions, attended the event. The siblings participating in the event along the Yamuna river pledged to see the purification of Yamuna river through until the end.
Ravi Shankar Tiwari stated that Delhi has a history of being destroyed and resettled multiple times. The city’s destruction and resettlement were made possible by the Yamuna river flowing towards the east. However, currently there is a rupture in the connection between Yamuna and Delhi. This is the initial time that the citizens of Delhi are beginning to neglect their Yamuna. That’s the reason why the main artery of the city has become unclear. In terms of the environment, the Yamuna River has lost its vitality.
Ravi Shankar Tiwari believes that saving Yamuna is crucial for saving Delhi and ultimately ourselves. He added that he will personally visit every house dressed as Yamuna Bhikshu on Bhai Dooj in the year 2025. I will carry the suffering of the Yamuna River to all households in the Braj area, as well as in Delhi-NCR. I’m going to involve all of you as partners in this grand ceremony of purifying the Yamuna river with your body, mind, and finances.Yamuna purification starts with Maha Yagya, Yamuna Sansad tackles issues.
