Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, and PM Modi discussed the Middle East situation on Monday.
“Spoke to Prime Minister @netanyahu about recent developments in West Asia. Terrorism has no place in our world. It is crucial to prevent regional escalation and ensure the safe release of all hostages. India is committed to supporting efforts for an early restoration of peace and stability,” PM Modi wrote on X.
The discussion between the prime minister and Netanyahu takes place in the midst of the Middle East’s growing crisis. Israel has been attacking Lebanon with missiles without stopping, and it has already taken out seven of Hezbollah’s senior leaders.
Israel has notified the US that it intends to conduct a limited ground action in Lebanon, according to a Washington Post story.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant reportedly said to soldiers from the Golani Infantry Brigade and the 188 Armored Brigade on the northern frontier, “The elimination of Nasrallah is a very important step, but it is not everything,” according to an AP story. Netanyahu said earlier in the day that Israel could reach anywhere in the Middle East, a statement that was aimed at Iran.
