3 bsf jawans killed in a bus accident in Kashmir, Budgam

In the Budgam area of Jammu and Kashmir, a bus carrying three Border Security Force (BSF) troops went off a mountainous road and fell into a canyon on Friday, killing three of them and injuring thirty-two others, according to officials. Thirty-five BSF troops were on board the bus when it collided in the Central Kashmiri Brell Waterhail area while on election duty.

This happened just hours after six people were hurt and an Army soldier was murdered in the Kathua district. According to reports in the local media, their car skidded off the road and tumbled into a ravine on the Sukrala Mata Ashram route.

Meanwhile, a third alarming event on Friday saw three Border Security Force (BSF) trainees hurt in an accidental mortar bomb blast near Pokhran. On Friday, the event happened during a practice session, and the three were taken to a hospital. To determine the cause of the occurrence, BSF officials have launched an investigation.

After the former state was divided into two Union Territories and Article 370 was repealed, Jammu and Kashmir is holding its first assembly elections. In January 2015, a coalition government including the PDP and BJP was formed following the 2014 assembly election.

On September 18, 24 assembly constituencies witnessed the first round of the elections in Jammu and Kashmir. On September 25, the 26 assembly seats will be the subject of the second round of voting. On October 1, the remaining 40 seats will be the subject of the third and final round of registration.

October 8 will see the announcement of the election results.
