The railways claimed in a statement on Thursday that they had discovered a six-meter-long iron rod on the rails between Bilaspur Road and Rudrapur city, and they suspected sabotage. Seeing the rod, the loco pilot cleared the track and slammed on the emergency brakes.

“On 18.09.24 at 22.18 hrs, Loco Pilot of train number 12091 reported to the Station Master of Rudrapur City that he found one 6-meter-long iron pole on the track between Bilaspur Road and Rudrapur City at km 43/10-11. Driver stopped the train, cleared the track and then started the train safely,” stated Railway. The event occurred in the midst of numerous efforts to derail trains.

A complaint under clauses of the Railways Act 1989 was filed at GRP Police Station Rampur against an unidentified individual.

“On seeing the electric pole, the loco pilot applied emergency brakes and stopped the train and after removing the pole the train resumed its journey,” according to the FIR.

In the Ajmer area of Rajasthan, an effort was discovered earlier this month to derail a loaded cargo train. Two cement blocks had been positioned on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor’s tracks by miscreants. The train struck the cement blocks, but nothing dangerous happened.

An officer from North Western Railway had stated, “A goods train hit them.” The incident happened on the Phulera-Ahmedabad stretch of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, between the stations of Saradhna and Bangad. The officer further added to this statement, “Some miscreants put two cement blocks on tracks on the dedicated freight corridor on Sunday.”
