A car travelling the wrong way struck the 23-year-old biker’s two-wheeler in Gurugram early on Sunday morning, resulting in his terrible death. He was being followed by his friend Pradyuman Kumar (22) who was about 100 feet away on another bike.
The victim, identified as Akshat Garg from Dwarka in Delhi, was killed in a deadly motorbike accident on Golf Course Road near Belvedere Park, DLF Phase II in Gurugram while riding with a companion.
They were approaching a bend after crossing the Sikanderpur-Cyberhub flyover when a speeding Mahindra XUV 300 automobile suddenly materialized, approaching from the incorrect direction. According to the authorities, Akshat’s bike and the car collided head-on.
Police said that Akshat and Pradyuman had left from different places to begin their adventure, with the intention of meeting up with other bikers near Ambience Mall once they left DLF Downtown.
“Neither the car driver nor Garg had any chance to avoid the collision,” an officer in charge was quoted in a Hindustan Times report.
The officer continued, “The impact flung Garg above the car, and his motorcycle was mangled beyond recognition.”
Inside the car were a dog and two males in their mid-20s. They were captured by commuters and turned over to the authorities. Regretfully, as soon as I attempted to unzip his helmet, my companion stopped responding,” Pradyuman Kumar was cited in the newspaper as saying.
“My GoPro camera, mounted on my helmet, captured every second of the collision. However, even after seeing the footage, the police declined to take a copy, he continued.
The report stated that although Garg was taken to a local hospital in DLF Phase-II by ambulance in five minutes, the doctors declared him dead.
