“Kalki 2898 AD,” directed by Nag Ashwin and featuring a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone, has taken the box office in its opening week.

Deepika’s Role in this science fiction epic

In this science fiction epic, Deepika portrays Sumathi, the mother of a prophesied saviour. Recently, Saswata Chatterjee, in an interview with News18 Showsha from Bangladesh, shared his experiences filming the breathtaking climax, where his character, Manas, violently confronts Sumathi, played by Deepika, as his forces overrun Shambhala.

An intriguing aspect revealed during the conversation was Deepika Padukone’s pregnancy during the shoot, which even saw her baby making an unexpected cameo in the movie.

Ranveer Singh Supporting Deepika Padukone

Saswata disclosed the presence of Deepika’s husband, Ranveer Singh, on set, who was there in full support, donning an all-orange outfit.

Saswata recounted a scene requiring physical strife and how he reassured Ranveer that a body double could be used for the more strenuous parts. However, Ranveer, always supportive, acknowledged the suggestion with a smile.
