Sufiyan's family said he got into a minor scuffle with another man over a cap.

A man was fatally shot on Saturday evening in northeast Delhi’s Shahdara neighborhood, the second similar occurrence in the last three days. The victim, Sufiyan, 20, was discovered with multiple bullet wounds. Police recovered four empty cartridges and bloodstains on the site.

According to Sufiyan’s relatives, the argument began over a cap that one of his pals, Sanam, had taken a few days before. Sufiyan reportedly demanded the headgear back, resulting in an altercation and a slight brawl. According to the family, the disagreement escalated, with Sanam and his associates fatally striking Sufiyan.

Prashant Gautam, DCP Shahdara, verified that a distress call was received at 7.15 p.m., reporting gunfire in the neighborhood. “Upon arriving at the scene, the person who died was identified. Sufiyan was identified as the man who ran an e-rickshaw and lived in Gandhi Nagar’s Sonia Gandhi Camp slum. We also know the identities of the two persons responsible for this incident. We’ve assembled a police team and will catch them soon.

In a separate incident on Thursday, a 40-year-old man and his adolescent nephew were slain, while a 10-year-old was injured in a gunshot outside their home during Diwali festivities. Police investigations are ongoing, with steps underway to apprehend the culprits in Sufiyan’s murder.
