Prativa Mohapatra, Vice President and Managing Director of Adobe India, talked at Business Today’s Most Powerful Women 2024 event about how technology has become an indispensable driver of both business growth and human empowerment. In a panel discussion, she emphasized that technology is no longer merely a support role, but rather the foundation of any business and a vital enabler of women’s empowerment.

“Today, every business is a tech business,” Mohapatra argued, highlighting technology’s revolutionary impact across industries. She underlined that technology is no longer just a tool in the background; it is at the center of corporate operations. According to her, it is difficult to identify a sector that does not incorporate technology at its core.

Mohapatra additionally highlighted how technology has changed the definition of “enablers” all through time, especially to benefit women. “Twenty days back, when I received questions about the balance between my job and my supporters, that was often about support from family members, like having an in-law’s help or a full-time maid,” she told me. Moving forward to now, she showed how those enablers have developed from familial and workplace regulations to tools and technologies.

“Today, I believe that the enablers remain tools, technologies, and AI in everyone’s hands. Women can make themselves much more productive by being acquainted with some of the tools accessible to us—whether it’s assisting their children with school exams, buying meals, or preparing a party,” Mohapatra said.

The rise of AI and other technology has not only redefined efficiency but has also broadened the range of opportunities for women to fulfill their goals at work and at home. Mohapatra believes that technology has become a “big, big enabler” for women, allowing them to focus on what is important by using digital tools to make routine tasks easier and faster.

Mohapatra urged women not to “fall behind” in adopting these technologies, pointing out that the productivity improvements they provide can be revolutionary. “The nature of enablers has truly evolved. So, grab that. “Do not fall behind,” she advised, emphasizing the necessity of technological proficiency in modern life.
