The 2024 US elections are approaching, and the concerns of Democrats are growing more than ever. After Biden’s poor performance against Trump in the first presidential debate, the president faces growing concerns about his age and health for the office. The president faces growing calls to step down as a Democratic nominee for the presidential race.

On MSNBC, President Joe Biden said “elites in the party” were calling him to quit the 2024 US elections. In the growing concerns, Biden claimed strong support from his actual voters. Biden also challenged his doubters of the Democratic Party to “run against me… Announce for president – challenge me at the convention.” However, no one has come forward.

2024 US Elections: Democrats Who Called Biden To Quit

Llyod Doggett, the veteran of Texas, became the first Democrat to publically call Biden to quit. Last week, Doggett called Biden to “Make the painful and difficult decision to withdraw.” “I’ll be there for him and whoever might be our Democrat nominee. But let’s put our best case, our best opportunity to save our country.”

On Monday, Congressman Adam Smith said on CNN, “That candidate must be able to clearly, articulately, and strongly make his or her case to the American people. It is clear that President Biden is no longer able to meet this burden.” At one point in the interview on CNN, Smith said, Ï’m pleading with him – take a step back. Look at what’s best for the part, look at what’s best for the country.”

Angie Craig, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), said, “Given what I saw and heard from the president during last week’s debate in Atlanta, coupled with the lack of a forceful response from the president himself following that debate I do not believe that the president can effectively campaign and win against Donald Trump. That’s why I respectfully call on President Biden to step aside as the Democratic nominee for a second term as president and allow for a new generation of leaders to step forward.”

Raul Grijalva, the United States representative for Arizona’s 7th congressional district, said to the New York Times; “What (Biden) needs to do is shoulder the responsibility for keeping that seat – and part of that responsibility is to get out of this race (presidential elections).” The 76-year-old also added that the Democrats “have to win this race, and we have to hold the house and hold the state.”

Mikie Sherril, congresswoman of New Jersey posted a statement on X on Tuesday. In the statement, the congresswoman wrote “I know President Biden cares deeply about the future of our country. That’s why I am asking that he declare that he won’t run for re-election and help will help lead us through a process toward a new nominee.”

Biden Firm On Not Stepping Down

Despite the increasing pressure from the Democratic Party to withdraw from the presidential election, Biden has made it clear that he isn’t going anywhere. In a two-page letter to congressional Democrats, Biden wrote “I am firmly committed to staying in this race, to running this race to the end, and to beating Donald Trump.”

A still from the first presidential debate between Trump and Biden

President Joe Biden’s troubles have multiplied after his disastrous performance in the first presidential debate against Donald Trump. This debate has weakened his position in the 2024 US elections. Political communists including Francis Wilkinson and Mary Ellen Klas are of the that President Biden is trying to run out the clock. Mary Ellen Klas said. “He’s trying to run (the clock) out before the Democratic Convention before it’s impossible to do anything else.”

The time for the 2024 US elections is indeed running out. Llyod Doggett in a recent interview said, ” On the question “Do you believe that that window is closing if President Biden were to make that kind of decision? (to quit)” Doggett answered, “I think that it’s a decision that needs to be made in just the next few days. Every day counts. Time is of the essence. We don’t have much time before Chicago.”
