Zomato

Zomato meal delivery service has added a new level of ease with “Order Scheduling,” which allows users to plan their orders ahead of time for precise delivery timing. Customers can now choose their preferred delivery time up to two days in advance, whether for an office lunch, a weekend party, or their daily coffee ritual. This feature is currently available in over 35,000 restaurants across 30 cities, including key hubs like Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Pune, and aims to make the food ordering experience as flexible as possible for its users.

How It Works.

Order Scheduling allows consumers to schedule delivery times ranging from two hours to two days ahead. Customers choose a certain delivery time at checkout after picking up their purchases. If their selected time slot is already taken, Zomato will offer them to select an alternative. If you need to modify your arrangements, you can cancel your purchase up to three hours before the planned time.

Benefits of Restaurants

The feature not only benefits users but also restaurant partners. Scheduled orders assist restaurants in managing their capacity by filling in gaps during slower hours, potentially leading to more constant orders. Furthermore, Zomato has ensured that the integration is simple, requiring no additional training for restaurant personnel and allowing restaurants to choose which menu items are available.

Built-in safeguards

To ensure that everything functions well, Zomato has implemented protections with this new functionality. Only restaurants with a track record of timely preparation and high availability are eligible, and they receive early notice of scheduled orders. Restaurants can also decide which items are accessible for pre-order, lowering the likelihood of last-minute replacements or shortages.
