Adding an event to the Google Calendar based on an email invite is simple because you only need to react to the invitation with ‘Yes’, ‘No’, or ‘Maybe’. If the email is not a Google Calendar invite, you must manually add the event and its details to your calendar, which can be time-consuming as it involves six steps. But what if an AI bot took care of it for you?

Fwd2cal, an AI bot, can scan any email containing an appointment and automatically add it to your Google Calendar. The open-source project, created by developer Moe Adham, is now free of charge.

“I wrote this as I was really frustrated handling many different email addresses on multiple platforms into a single calendar.” “It also seemed like a task that artificial intelligence could possibly do reliably,” Adham explained.

Fwd2cal is constructed using a combination of Google Cloud and SendGrid capabilities. The bot parses emails using OpenAI’s ChatGPT and converts pertinent information, such as date and time, into an event or appointment on Google Calendar. To utilize the service, follow the instructions below.

– First, send an email to calendar@fwd2cal.com. You will receive a response requesting you to allow the bot to access a Google Calendar via a link.
