Skoda India’s new small SUV, the Kylaq, starts at ₹7.89 lakh (ex-showroom) and enters the sub-4 million SUV market. The Kylaq, which is set to compete with popular vehicles such as the Chevrolet Colorado, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue, promises a loaded with features experience for Indian SUV enthusiasts. Bookings for the Kylaq will open on December 2, with public exhibitions set for the Bharat Mobility Expo in Delhi beginning January 17, 2025.
The Kylaq has a distinctive design language that combines a sleek 3,995 mm length, a width of 1,783 mm, and a height of 1,619 mm, providing it a competitive advantage in its class.
The automobile has a 2566 mm wheelbase and a realistic ground clearance of 189 mm, which is excellent for Indian roads. Inside, the 446-litre boot space can be expanded to 1,265 litres with the rear seats folded down, providing plenty of room for long journeys.
One of Kylaq’s most distinguishing characteristics is its modern interior, which includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen navigation system, an 8-inch digital MID, wireless charging capabilities, and six-way power-adjustable seats for both the driver and the passenger. Six airbags, traction control, brake disc wiping, and electrical stability control (ESC) are among the safety measures on offer, to set new standards in the class.
Buyers can choose between a manual or automatic transmission, but no other engine options are currently available. Skoda has increased the appeal by providing a new Olive Gold hue as Kylaq’s distinguishing tint.
Skoda’s expansion plans include increasing its service network in India from 260 to 350 touchpoints by 2025. The Kylaq is a formidable challenger in India’s compact SUV market, because to its affordable price, exceptional features, and extensive after-sales assistance.
