Apple released the first stable build of iOS 18 for over 25 distinct iPhone models and iPadOS 18 for over 10 different iPad models on Monday, exactly one week after the “It’s Glowtime” iPhone 16 series announcement event. The iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 improvements, first shown off at WWDC 2024, include additional customization capabilities and Apple Intelligence for some devices.
Some earliest iPhones that can receive the iOS 18 upgrade include the iPhone SE 2 Gen 2 and the iPhone XS/XR. Similarly, iPads that can receive the iPadOS 18 update go back as far as the 7th generation iPad.

The new AI features, also known as Apple Intelligence, will be available for the iPhone 15 Pro series, the most recent iPhone 16 series, iPads with the M series chip, and a future iOS 18.1 software update. The most recent software updates from Apple, iOS 18, and iPadOS 18, allow users to fully customize their iPhones and iPads to their liking. This includes the option to place an app icon anywhere on the home screen, alter the quick settings or control center, and more. Users can also change the color of the app icon to match their wallpaper.
