All Android users may now utilize Gemini Live, Google’s two-way audio chat capability for its Gemini AI chatbot. All Android users may now have voice interactions with the AI, which was previously only available to Gemini Advanced customers with a Google One AI Premium membership.
Basic Features for Free Users
While Gemini Live is now available to all Android users, the free edition only includes the fundamental features. Users will not have access to the 10 various voices included in the premium edition.
Android users using the Gemini app will see a new waveform symbol next to the microphone and camera icons in the bottom right corner of the screen. Tapping this symbol starts Gemini Live, which enables two-way voice.
The full-screen interface looks like a phone call, featuring a sound wave pattern with hold and end buttons. The hold button allows users to interrupt the AI and ask new questions or change the flow of the conversation.
Comparison to ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice ModeGemini Live provides smooth and responsive speech, but it lacks the emotional expressiveness and nuanced replies of ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode.
How to use Gemini Live.
Open the app and look for the waveform symbol at the bottom right. Tap the symbol and agree to the terms and conditions. Start speaking to begin a discussion with the AI.
