Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are seeking Americans who are passionate about small government and willing to work long hours for no compensation to join the newly founded Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E.). Musk posted an unorthodox job announcement on X, inviting “high-IQ small-government revolutionaries” to apply for posts in the department that claims to take on Washington’s huge bureaucracy.
The official Doge account posted: “We don’t need more part-time idea creators. We need ultra-intelligent small-government revolutionaries willing to labor 80+ hours per week on unglamorous cost-cutting.” The letter made it obvious that this isn’t your normal government position, but rather a demanding commitment to overhauling federal operations.
Musk personally commented to the post, saying, “Indeed, this will be tiresome labor, generate a lot of enemies, and the compensation is nil. “What a fantastic deal!” He went on to detail the task at hand, which was to dismantle layers of federal bureaucracy and reduce government spending by an ambitious $2 trillion, while warning that
President-elect Donald Trump just announced Musk and Ramaswamy’s selections to D.O.G.E., describing the department as the “Manhattan Project of our time.” Trump hailed their contributions to his administration’s mission to “dismantle government administrative processes, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful spending and restructure federal agencies” – all under the “Save America” banner.
