Kim Kardashian’s Newest Friend Is a Model S Robot, and the Internet is Losing It. Kim Kardashian has introduced a startling new friend to her social media followers: Optimus, Tesla’s humanoid robot. In a series of Instagram Stories, the reality TV star chatted with the robot in a lighthearted manner, demonstrating its technological capabilities as well as a little personality.

One of the interactions’ highlights was a game of scissors and rocks. Kim eagerly challenged Optimus, asking, “Umm, rock-paper-scissors,” and the robot responded by raising its arms. After beating the game, Kim hinted, “Oh! You’re a bit slow. “I beat you. Optimus answered by raising its arms in a frustrated gesture, which added comedy to the conversation. Kim also tested the robot’s dexterity by asking, “Can you do this?”  To her surprise, Optimus perfected the motion. “You know how to do that!” she said, clearly amazed.

The films immediately spread to other sites, including X (previously Twitter), causing a frenzy of reactions. Notable tech advocate Marques Brownlee expressed his curiosity, saying, “I have so many questions.” Tesla’s Ashok Elluswamy, director of Autopilot Software, chimed in with a sarcastic comment, “Looks like that robot’s not coming back,” which received hundreds of likes. Meanwhile, the official Tesla Optimus account responded with a funny, “Sorry you had to find out this way.”

The buzz surrounding Kim’s posts confirmed Tesla’s ability to garner attention without using typical marketing tactics. Barbara commented, “Tesla does not need a marketing department   Another X user, Nic Cruz Patane, lauded the company’s branding abilities, adding, “Tesla knows how to market their products better than anyone else.”

In addition to Optimus, Kim posted a video of Tesla’s futuristic self-driving Cybercab. The sleek vehicle, which lacks pedals and a steering wheel, astounded watchers as she casually unveiled it to her audience. Optimus, which is said to cost between $20,000 and $30,000, is more than just a technological marvel; it is also a discussion starter. With its capacity to communicate in human-like ways and Kim Kardashian’s endorsement, the robot has become an internet hit overnight.
