Shoaib Akhtar, a former Pakistan speedster, is dissatisfied with how the ICC Champions Trophy has dragged on. According to reports, all sides have agreed on a hybrid model, albeit the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made a few requests to provide their consent.

The PCB, which holds the tournament’s hosting rights, was determined to organize the entire game in Pakistan, but a recent meeting with the ICC has softened its attitude. However, the PCB has reportedly insisted that all ICC events in India follow a mixed approach.

Speaking to a Pakistani channel, Akhtar agreed with the PCB’s request for a larger portion of income because the event will now be hosted in a hybrid format. However, Akhtar disagrees with the board’s decision not to travel to India for future ICC events.

“You’re getting compensated for hosting rights and revenue, which is OK; we all understand. Pakistan’s attitude is likewise logical. They should have kept a solid position, why not? If we can host the Champions Trophy in our country and they refuse to come, they should split the earnings with us at a higher percentage. “That’s a good call,” Akhtar replied.

Akhtar believes the PCB should send the Pakistani squad to India for future ICC events. But they should construct their team so that Pakistan can beat India at home.

“When it comes to playing at home in the future, we could extend a kind hand and travel there. My belief has always been to go to India and defeat them there. Play there and beat the Americans on their home ground. “I understand that the hybrid model was signed earlier,” he continued.
