Vinod Kambli was one of the most gifted cricket players in India at the time, but he never quite reached the heights to which he was once expected. The former Indian cricket player’s career took a nosedive and never recovered. Perhaps the greatest hitter of all time is Sachin Tendulkar, his buddy and former teammate who began his career with Kambli. When the two former cricket players met at the memorial service for their former coach Ramakant Achrekar, the stark disparity in their current and health conditions shocked the nation.
Kambli has pledged to battle back and eliminate the health problems that have been preventing him from playing at his best, as the whole Indian cricket community has voiced its concerns about his condition. Kambli also talked honestly about his association with Virat in a recent conversation, particularly regarding a 2009 incident that caused each of them to go through an uphill battle.
Kambli had even charged Sachin with abandoning him at that point. He has since explained, though. When he had surgery in 2013, the former batter even disclosed that Tendulkar had paid for a large portion of his medical expenses.
“I thought that Sachin wasn’t helpful at the moment. I felt very frustrated. However, Sachin provided for all of my needs, including covering the costs of my two 2013 surgeries. On The Viky Lalwani Show, Kambli disclosed, “We talked, and a friendship from our early years came forward. “I was taught how to play by Sachin. I returned nine times. We get hurt because we play cricket. We get hurt when we leave, too,” Kambli continued.
Kambli still treasures the double hundred he made at Wankhede when he first gained notoriety in the 1990s, remembering some of his cricketing highlights. “I shall treasure the double hundred at Wankhede beyond all else. We had a fantastic crew, and Achrekar Sir was with me.
