Leverkusen are away at French club Brest in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Victor Boniface, a Bayer Leverkusen and Nigeria striker, shared footage and images of his destroyed car after an accident on Sunday. The forward can be seen looking at the camera before revealing his arm, which looks to be covered in blood. Other images show a black sports car that appears to have been smashed in a collision. The original post has since been deleted. According to a source close to Boniface, the striker is “doing well considering the circumstances and is only slightly injured” as of Sunday.

The forward’s club, A Leverkusen, has yet to respond publicly to the report. The 23-year-old striker joined Leverkusen last season and helped the club win their first Bundesliga title with an unbeaten league and cup double, as well as making his debut for Nigeria.

This season, he has scored seven goals in ten games across all competitions. On Saturday, he missed a penalty but scored the winner in a 2-1 home win over Eintracht Frankfurt. On Wednesday, Leverkusen heads to Brest, France, for the Champions League. Boniface was “doing well considering the circumstances and is only slightly injured” as of Sunday.
