Mushfiqur Rahim, an experienced Bangladesh batsman, will miss the next two-match Test series against the West Indies, which begins on November 22. Rahim has been ruled out of the Tests with a finger injury. Rahim suffered a fracture on the tip of his left index finger while keeping wickets in the first One-Day International against Afghanistan in Sharjah on November 6, which sidelined him for the three-match ODI series. According to the ICC, his availability for the three-match ODI series beginning on December 8 is also unknown.
According to medical estimates, his recovery is projected to take four to six weeks, putting him out of the Test series against the West Indies.
Mushfiqur, who has already retired from Twenty20 cricket, will join the team for the ODI part of the tour if his recovery goes as planned.
Due to his injury, the right-hand hitter batted lower than usual in the first one-day international against Afghanistan, but he was later ruled out for the rest of the series. He scored only one run in Bangladesh’s 236-run chase, and the team crumbled for 143 runs. They did, however, mount a comeback in the second ODI, winning by 68 runs. The third and final ODI will be held on Monday in Sharjah.
He is scheduled to return to Bangladesh soon to continue his recuperation. Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s team management has yet to pick a substitute for Mushfiqur in the present One-Day International series against Afghanistan.
