Jamal Musiala scored three goals in the first half to help Bayern Munich win 4-0 at Mainz and advance to the German Cup’s round of 16. Just two minutes in, Harry Kane found Musiala 10 meters out from goal, and the 21-year-old hammered it home. Jakob Lemmer’s brace was insufficient for Dynamo Dresden, which fell 3-2 in extra time to Darmstadt, with goals from Aleksandar Vukotic, Tobias Kempe, and Isaac Lidberg. Earlier, Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Omar Marmoush continued his impressive recent form by scoring the winner in a 2-1 victory over Borussia Moenchengladbach.
Frankfurt was down to ten men as Arthur Theate was sent off for a handball outside the box only 15 minutes in. Hugo Ekitike of France put the five-time winners ahead in first-half stoppage time, but Gladbach’s Ko Itakura tied things up early in the second half.
