Mayank Yadav, one of the world’s quickest pacers, made a promising international debut, taking one wicket as India defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets in the first T20I of the three-match series on Sunday. Mayank, an express pacer, astonished everyone in his debut, not only with his pace but also with his variations. Following the conclusion of the series opener, Mayank revealed a crucial message from coach Gautam Gambhir ahead of his first international appearance.

“I was excited but also nervous. This series signified my recovery from the injury. I didn’t play any competitive cricket before making my debut. “That’s why I was a little nervous.”  “The recuperation phase was difficult for many. There were many ups and downs throughout the previous four months. But it was more difficult for the folks that worked with me,” he continued.

Mayank claimed that he was more concerned with bowling correct lengths throughout the match than with being faster. Because it was his first international game, the express speedster was more concerned with being frugal than launching the speed gun off the charts.

“Today, I concentrated more on my physique. In addition, I was motivated to strike precise lengths rather than bowl quicker. I didn’t consider my speed. I tried leaking as few runs as possible while bowling at the right line and length.

I spoke with my captain, who advised me to depend on my stalk ball rather than experimenting with different varieties. But when I got to Gwalior, the wicket had little bounce, so I adjusted my tempo appropriately,” he remarked.

Mayank revealed a crucial message from head coach Gautam Gambhir, saying that he was told not to think too much about his first international game. Sticking to the basics was crucial, and Gambhir advised him to do just that.

Nothing additional; he advised me to stick to the basics and do what had previously worked for me. He advised me not to think too much about attempting new things or even thinking it was an international game. Following the procedure was essential,” Yadav said.
