Manu Bhaker, a double Olympic medalist in pistol shooting, has stated that the challenges she endured early in her career helped her learn patience and tenacity. Bhaker, 22, made history at the Paris Games by becoming the first Indian post-Independence to win two medals in a single Olympics. The star shooter is unconcerned with her detractors and is solely focused on her career. Bhaker, who took a break from shooting after the Paris Olympics, is presently taking a Master’s degree in Public Administration at Punjab University in Chandigarh.

It doesn’t bother me what others say on social media. Honestly, I don’t need to deal with that; why should I? “My business is my sport, and I only need to focus on that,” Bhaker told PTI Television in an exclusive interview on the sidelines of the DAV United Sports Conclave here on Saturday.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me during my journey. They have ensured that I am constantly prepared, both intellectually and physically. I am also grateful to folks who truly appreciate me, pondering, and talking about my path.

“I’m glad I’ve already witnessed the falling phase; it’s taught me a lot about patience. Bhaker stated that she had maintained her fitness throughout the layoff. “I kept a constant check on my fitness level. During my tests, I couldn’t because I had requested a unique opportunity to take the exams. I had two tests back to back, and this phase was quite chaotic. But on and off, I’ve been trying to stick to my workout routine,” she explained.

Bhaker, who was honored by the DAV United Foundation for her outstanding performance at the Paris Olympics, thanked the organizers for their assistance. “DAV has been such family to me, especially Amrinder Singh sir; without him, I would not have considered myself a part of the DAV family.
