Vijayamma's husband once backed transparency, but now situation has changed.

YS Vijayamma, the spouse of Chief Minister YS Rajashekhar Reddy (YSR), has stated that YSR did not distribute the assets while he was alive. She mentioned that while raising each child, certain assets were listed under their name, not for division purposes.

Speaking out on Tuesday for the first time, YS Vijayamma addressed the ongoing conflict between her two children, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and YS Sharmila, regarding the inheritance of YSR’s properties. She emphasized that both children were equally loved by YSR and that all properties are family-owned.

In a public letter, YS Vijayamma expressed optimism that “Jagan and Sharmila will soon make amends”. Referring to recent comments made by senior YSRCP officials YV Subba Reddy and Vijay Sai Reddy, she explained that YSR did not distribute his assets while he was alive. She also brought up Jagan’s commitment to his sister in his book ‘Naalo Natho YSR’, as vowed to his father. The family stayed together and divided the profits evenly until 2019. Nonetheless, once appointed Chief Minister, Jagan broached the topic of property division while visiting Israel.

Another agreement was created in Vijayawada, outlining the division of assets among the siblings, with Vijayamma encouraging her children to resolve the conflict. She emphasized that if YSR had been alive, these problems would not have arisen. She requested that others refrain from provoking Jagan and Sharmila. She called on YSR supporters and state residents to refrain from “spreading rumors” about his family.

YS Vijayamma mentioned that I am asking individuals to refrain from making negative remarks about my family and are encouraging them to steer clear from fabricating stories on social media. She stated that this is my plea to anyone who loves Rajashekar Reddy and his family. She mentioned that Rajashekar Reddy supported full transparency, but the present condition is significantly changed.
