The federal government has identified 16 bills, which include the Waqf amendment, for the upcoming winter session of Parliament that commences on Monday. These consist of five new bills as well. One of the five suggested bills is aimed at creating a collaborative university.

In fact, the Parliament’s winter session will begin on November 25 and end on December 20. There are 16 bills included in the agenda for this session by the government. Five of them are brand new bills. Other than that, there are still outstanding bills.

The Wakf (Amendment) Bill is among the pending bills that will be considered and passed by the Lok Sabha after the joint committee of the two Houses submits its report. The committee was requested to present its findings by the end of the initial week of the winter session. The winter session is scheduled to go on until December 20.

Currently, there is no legislation on ‘One Nation One Election’ recommended by the committee led by ex-President Ram Nath Kovind. This report has been approved by the Cabinet. The Punjab Courts (Amendment) Bill is another bill mentioned by the government.

Additionally, the Coastal Shipping Bill and the Indian Ports Bill are included for introduction and approval. There are currently eight bills waiting to be discussed in the Lok Sabha, such as the Wakf (Amendment) Bill and the Muslim Wakf (Repeal) Bill. There are two more individuals in the Rajya Sabha.
