Leader Omar Abdullah was sworn in as Chief Minister on Wednesday. Following his oath-taking ceremony, Omar Abdullah posted on social media. He posted his picture on Instagram with the caption – I am back.

This social media post by Abdullah is generating a lot of discussion. Surinder Choudhary, MLA of Nowshera, has been appointed as the Deputy CM of Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, Sakina Ittu, Javed Rana, Javed Dar, and Satish Sharma have also taken on ministerial roles within the government.

Abdullah ran for the Budgam and Ganderbal seats in the Jammu Kashmir assembly elections. On the Budgam seat, he won against PDP candidate Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi with a margin of 18485 votes. Abdullah received 36010 votes while Mehdi received 17525 votes. In addition, Omar Abdullah was also successful in securing the Ganderbal constituency. He won against PDP candidate Bashir Ahmed Mir with a margin of 10574 votes. Omar Abdullah received 32727 votes while Ahmed Mir garnered 22153 votes.

Abdullah had to experience a loss in the Lok Sabha elections. Engineer Rashid emerged as the winner over Omar Abdullah in the Baramulla Lok Sabha seat. He won against Omar Abdullah with a lead of 204142 votes. Omar received a total of 2,68,339 votes.

Omar Abdullah, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, assumed control at the secretariat and convened a meeting with department secretaries. While evaluating how the departments were operating, he directed the officials to prioritize solving the issues of the public.

In the elections for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly, the National Conference secured 42 seats out of a total of 90. BJP secured 29 seats while Congress secured 6 seats. Congress and NC competed in the assembly elections as partners.
