On Wednesday, the Haryana government led by Nayab Singh Saini declared a three percent rise in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for government employees and pensioners starting from July 1. This was stated in a directive from the government.

As per the directive, the Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief for Haryana Government employees and pensioners have been raised from 50% to 53% of their basic pay starting from July 1, 2024. The directive indicated that the raised DA and DR will be included in the salary and pension for October, while the arrears from July to September will be disbursed in December.

Recently, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi had provided positive news to the employees of his state, before the Haryana government. Mohan Charan Majhi announced significant news for state government workers and retirees on Monday. Mohan Charan Majhi declared a 3% increase in DA and Dearness Relief for state government employees.

As per the press release from the Chief Minister’s office, the increase in DA has gone up to 53% from 50%. The higher DA will take effect starting in July 2024. In addition to this, the government has also raised the Dearness Allowance (DA) for pensioners by 3%. These individuals will be given the revised pension amount for the month of October. About 7.5 lakh employees and pensioners in the state will profit from this Odisha government ruling.

A media report has alleged that the Yogi government of UP will pay state employees their salaries before Diwali this month. As per the guidelines, the UP government will deposit the salaries of all employees into their accounts by October 30. Approximately 1.8 million government employees in Uttar Pradesh will be benefited by this.

Likewise, the Bihar government has also announced that it will release salaries for its employees prior to Diwali. Media reports suggest that Bihar government employees will receive their salaries by October 25 this month. Eight hundred thousand government employees will be benefited by this.
