MVA officials conducted a press briefing on Friday at Shivalaya, the main office of Shiv Sena (UBT) in Nariman Point, Mumbai. While this was happening, Nana Patole, the president of the Congress state unit, leveled severe accusations against the BJP. He claimed that the BJP is plotting to delete the names of MVA followers from the voter roll.
Patole mentioned, ‘There have been complaints from our followers that we have received.’ Reports have indicated that the ruling coalition is having the names of MVA supporters struck off the voter list by collaborating with local election officials.
Leaders of the MVA mentioned that Form No. 7 of the Election Commission is utilized for eliminating the names of other voters or one’s own name. Currently, it is being utilized to erase the identities of individuals who back MVA.
While this was happening, Congress party leader Vijay Wadettiwar presented the voter ID card of Santosh Pawar, who is affiliated with NCP. A photo of another person is printed on the card with their name. He mentioned that the leaders of MVA will be meeting with the Chief Election Officer to discuss these complaints. This issue is grave and requires prompt action.
Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Congress dismissed the initial list of party candidates shared on social media for the assembly elections as fraudulent. The roster approved by Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal contains the names of 15 notable Congress leaders. The party made it clear that this list is not genuine.
The leaders stated that the manner in which the list was made public is uncertain, but it is not considered official. The party is advising voters to be patient for the official candidate list and avoid trusting rumors. It is anticipated that Congress will unveil its initial roster of candidates for the Maharashtra elections on Saturday.
