A highly intriguing competition is unfolding across numerous constituencies in the Maharashtra Assembly polls. In this particular episode, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s faction of Shiv Sena has decided to field Rajya Sabha MP Milind Deora as their candidate from Worli. Shiv Sena (UBT) contender Aditya Thackeray is competing against Deora in the election. Deora was named the day after Aditya Thackeray filed his nomination for the upcoming assembly elections.
Milind Deora is currently serving as a member of the Rajya Sabha and has been elected as a Member of Parliament for South Mumbai three times. During the Lok Sabha elections, Deora was assigned the task of managing the Worli constituency. Even though UBT was Aditya’s constituency, they only had a lead of 6,500 votes in the Worli Assembly. In this scenario, a fierce competition is evident between the two parties in the legislative elections too. Upcoming article on the horizon
Milind Deora and Aditya Thackeray will also be in competition with MNS’s Sandeep Deshpande in Worli, as he has already received a ticket from this constituency. On Thursday, Aditya Thackeray, a former minister from Maharashtra, submitted his nomination papers for the Worli assembly seat located in South Central Mumbai. Aditya Thackeray, the son of ex-Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, conducted a road show prior to submitting his nomination forms. He also prayed at a temple located in Lower Parel.
Numerous Shiv Sena UBT workers and their supporters from Worli constituency took part in the event. Notable leaders like Kishori Pednekar, Sachin Ahir stand out among them.
During the Lok Sabha elections, Aditya Thackeray informed journalists that the people of Maharashtra have come to understand that the BJP makes hollow promises. They have rejected Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde in the vote.
The BJP has stolen from Maharashtra more than ever. 153 candidates have submitted their nominations throughout Maharashtra since the process for the assembly elections started on October 22. The final deadline for submitting nomination papers is October 29th. The 288-member Maharashtra Assembly voting will take place in a single phase on November 20, with vote counting scheduled for November 23.
