On Wednesday, YSRCP leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy urged worshippers to attend temple prayers in Andhra Pradesh on September 28, amidst the current dispute regarding the Tirupati Laddoo.
He mentioned that the request for prayers across the state is a reaction to the accusations made by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu about animal fat, including beef tallow, lard, and fish oil, being used in the laddoos given as ‘prasadam’ at the Tirupati temple.
Reddy, the ex-chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, expressed that Naidu’s assertions have damaged the purity of Tirumala, the Tirumala laddu, and Venkateswara Swamy.
In a post on social media platform X, Reddy stated that the YSRCP is urging devotees to attend temple prayers on September 28 to uphold the sanctity of Tirumala, the importance of the Lord’s prasad, the glory of Venkateswara Swamy, the reputation of TTD, and the sanctity of the laddu offered by Venkateswara Swamy.
He continued to stress that Naidu’s comments were driven by political motives, stating, “This statement is a reaction to CM Chandrababu Naidu’s behavior that has harmed the reputation of Tirumala, the Tirumala laddu, and the significance of Venkateswara Swamy with untrue comments fueled by political malice.”
Response from TDP to Jagan
The TDP, led by Naidu, directly criticised Reddy’s post, questioning his lack of faith, devotion, or fear towards Venkateswara Swamy. The divine being is aware of what consequences to give to individuals like you. The god will handle it.
The party also commented, “Your family doesn’t hold the deity in reverence… You have selected non-Hindus to serve as chairman in Tirumala… You likened the deity’s idol to a black stone and selected someone who shows disrespect towards it as the chairman… You wear flower wreaths as you wait in line to see the deity… You have never professed belief in the higher power.
You have increased the price of the god’s sweet by two times… For five years, you have been revealing hell to followers… Ultimately, you included animal fat in the laddu, causing distress to millions.
