Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria Has Stressed On The Development Of All Communities For Holistic Growth Of The State.

Assam’s Governor, Gulab Chand Kataria, has emphasized the importance of fostering development across all communities to achieve comprehensive growth within the state.

He highlighted the necessity of uniting leaders from various communities to promote an inclusive and equitable development approach.

According to an official statement, his comments came during his speech at the closing ceremony of a two-day conference focused on autonomous councils not included in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.

Leaders from the Rabha-Hasong, Missing, Tiwa, Deuri, Thengal-Kachari, Sonowal-Kachari, Bodo-Kachari, Moran, and Mottock communities, along with representatives from the Kamatapur area, all of which have been established as autonomous councils, were in attendance at the conference.

Governor Kataria commended the Assam Assembly for their role in facilitating the conference, noting that it enhances understanding of the principles behind the creation of Autonomous Councils.

The gathering was instrumental in updating various officials from the autonomous councils on their legislative, administrative, and financial prerogatives.

It also provided an educational experience for various parties on the legalities surrounding the Autonomous Councils Act, added Kataria.

The governor expressed his hope that the insights gained from the conference would significantly contribute towards fulfilling the goals of the Autonomous Councils, namely, to support the social, economic, educational, and cultural progress of the populations they serve.

“The advancement of these communities is crucial, as their development will undeniably support the comprehensive growth of not just our state, but the nation as well,” added the governor.

He pledged his full support to aid in further developing the Autonomous Councils.
