The political uproar was caused by the comment made by Horticulture Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh on the resignation of Rahul Gandhi as Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and the nomination of Priyanka Vadra as the Congress candidate from the Wayanad seat in the Lok Sabha by-election.

Dinesh Pratap Singh made a sarcastic post on his ex’s account, stating that the girl ultimately chose to flee instead of facing a battle. She has aged. Following this, the minister was targeted by Congress leaders. Initially, Ajay Rai, the President of the State Congress, took a stand and criticized the statement made by Dinesh Singh. From that time onwards, Congress leaders have consistently criticized the BJP for Dinesh Pratap Singh’s offensive and anti-female remarks.

On Wednesday, a group of Congress workers, enraged by his remarks, went to Dinesh Pratap Singh’s official residence in Lucknow and inscribed ‘dishonest’ on the gate while chanting slogans. Congress members demonstrated outside the minister’s home.

During the recent Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi ran for office in both Raebareli and Wayanad at the same time. Following victories in both locations, Rahul stepped down from his position in Wayanad. Congress has nominated Priyanka as the candidate for the by-election on his empty seat.
