Srinagar State Department. During the assembly elections, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, the President of National Conference and a three-time Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, chose not to address inquiries regarding the restoration of Article 370, a topic he frequently discussed in public meetings.
Regarding 370, he responded by saying that the top priority for the current administration is addressing the everyday issues faced by the general population. In the National Conference’s debate about sending him to the Rajya Sabha, he countered by asking who claimed he was going to the Rajya Sabha. On the day that I depart, you will be the first one I greet.
It should be noted that Farooq’s son Omar Abdullah became the Chief Minister on the same Wednesday. His party aims to restore Article 370, while his political rivals are urging him to pass a resolution condemning the decision made by the Central Government regarding Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019, during the first day of the assembly session.
While visiting a friend at his shop on Court Road near Lal Chowk in Srinagar, journalists questioned Dr Farooq Abdullah about Omar Abdullah’s intentions to introduce a resolution against the revocation of Article 370.
Farooq stated that this is a significant problem, however, the primary focus should be on addressing the issues faced by the locals. Unemployment and misery exist here and must be addressed as a priority. The traffic needs to be addressed. Indicating his own cap, he mentioned that those who ride scooters in this area do not wear caps (helmets). This is risky.
There are no traffic police officers in sight. Regarding the issue of reinstating statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, the NC president noted that this has been previously debated and now the Supreme Court has also announced it will address the issue. It will be repaired shortly.
Farooq expressed that our ears will no longer hear the noise in this place since the Chief Minister did not establish a green corridor for him. This is extremely unsettling. Whether a regular person or a person of importance, all are seen as being the same.
