Priyanka Gandhi, Congress General Secretary, will be participating in elections for the first time. She has submitted her candidacy for the Wayanad seat by-election in Kerala. Although Priyanka Gandhi has been involved in politics for a long time, she has always sought votes for other party members in the past.
However, this time she is requesting votes for herself. Priyanka Gandhi penned a letter addressed to the residents of Wayanad. She mentioned that this visit will be her inaugural visit as a public representative. In addition to that, she also brought up her recent trip to Churamala and Mundakkai.
Priyanka Gandhi posted the letter on Instagram with the caption, “My beloved sisters and brothers from Wayanad.” She penned, “Some months back, I journeyed with my brother to Chooramala and Mundakkai.” I witnessed the destruction from the landslides and the extent of the grief you experienced. I encountered the kids who had no parents left. Doctors, politicians, charity workers, educators, medical staff, homemakers, all pitched in to assist one another.
Priyanka Gandhi also stated that she has assured Rahul Gandhi that she will strive to strengthen the bond between the people and themselves and will also make all necessary attempts to advocate for the people. She mentioned that Rahul Gandhi also shared with her the challenges faced by the people and raised awareness about various issues requiring attention in Wayanad. In this, her main concern was the difficulties experienced by the farming and tribal communities.
She penned a letter to the women, stating, “Collaboratively, we can enhance your strength and generate fresh chances to build a better tomorrow. I hold a deep sentiment towards providing women with chances and enabling them to live their lives freely, my sisters are of utmost importance to me. I can’t wait to meet as many of you as I can and hear your thoughts on how we can collaborate in a way that will be most beneficial for you.
In addition to this, Priyanka Gandhi referred to the public as her mentor for her upcoming journey, stating, “You will serve as my mentor and instructor in my new role as a public servant, although I am not new to fighting for the people!”
