Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha Election 2024

BJP has unveiled its initial roster for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly Polls. The first list of BJP consists of 66 candidates’ names. Tickets have been given to 11 out of 66 women. In Jharkhand, BJP has nominated four candidates who were unsuccessful in the Lok Sabha elections. Babulal Marandi has been nominated to run from Dhanwar. Sita Soren from Jamtara and Sameer Oraon from Bishanpur have been chosen as candidates. Tickets have been assigned to Sudarshan Bhagat of Gumla and Geeta Koda of Janannath Court.

BJP has nominated ex-CM Champai Soren to run from Saraikela. Champai Soren’s son Babulal Soren has been allocated a ticket from Ghatsila, former CM Arjun Munda’s wife Meera Munda from Potka, and Raghuvar Das’s daughter-in-law Purnima Das Sahu from Jamshedpur East.

Lobin Hembram, who switched from JMM to BJP, has also been nominated as a candidate. Lobin, who defied JMM during the floor test, had recently become a member of BJP. Hembram received a ticket from Borio.

BJP has reduced the ticket quota of four MLAs. Ujjwal Das has replaced Kishun Das as the candidate in Simaria, Dr. Jitu Charan Ram has replaced Samari Lal in Kanke, Manju Devi has replaced Kedar Hazra in Jamua, and Tara Devi, the wife of Indrajit Mahato, has been chosen as the candidate in Sindri. The Simaria, Jamua, and Kanke MLAs’ tickets were canceled due to anti-incumbency, while the Sindri MLA was not nominated because of his ill health.

The party general secretary Arun Singh has signed off on the release of the list of candidates. The party has revealed its nominees for 68 of the 81 assembly seats in the state. Voting will take place in the state on November 13 and November 20 in two separate phases. Vote tallying will occur on the 23rd of November.
