Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024
Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024

The CPI India Block in Jharkhand Assembly Elections will contest alone on 15 seats, rejecting any alliance for the upcoming elections. The Hemant Soren-led coalition government in the state should focus on youth for five years. There is disappointment among the people as elections approach despite schemes like ‘Maiyaan Samman’. Moreover, there are allegations of trying to deceive the public by distributing sweets.

Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, Mahendra Pathak, the state secretary of the party, stated that we have joined India Block in order to achieve the broader goal of defeating the BJP. The party we belong to enjoys significant backing from the public in Jharkhand. We reached out to the main figures in JMM and Congress to discuss a potential seat sharing agreement for the elections. They had promised that this matter would be addressed. In such circumstances, our party is prepared to participate in the elections independently.

The party has additionally revealed the identities of its candidates for nine seats within the state. Kanhai Chandramoul Pahariya, Chhaya Kol, Mahadev Ram, Ruchir Tiwari, Santosh Kumar Rajak, Suresh Kumar Bhuiyan, Doman Bhuiyan, Mahendra Oraon, and Ghanshyam Pathak have been nominated as candidates from different assembly seats. Additionally, the party will participate in elections from five more constituencies: Ranchi, Mandu, Barkagaon, Hazaribagh, and Poraiyahat. Candidates for these positions will be revealed in one or two days.

Previously, the Communist Party of India convened a two-day gathering of the Jharkhand State Council on October 19 and 20, with the attendance of the party’s national general secretary D. Raja and national secretary and Jharkhand in-charge Ramkrishna Panda. In the meeting, a decision was made that the party will participate in the elections by creating a partnership with similar parties to address poverty, unemployment, inflation, migration, and advocate for water, forest, and land issues to help the state.
