Election Commission criticizes Congress for distrust.

The Election Commission dismissed the Congress’s accusations on Tuesday, branding them as groundless, untrue, and lacking evidence. The Election Commission dismissed the Congress’s claims about the Haryana elections as unfounded. In addition to this, the Commission has also sent a letter to the Congress party asking them to avoid making unfounded accusations in every election.

The Election Commission criticized the Congress party for spreading generic distrust. The EC urged Congress to implement strong and tangible measures to prevent these trends. The Election Commission warned the Congress party that making reckless accusations during the crucial days of polling and counting could cause public unrest and chaos.

The Election Commission mentioned five particular cases from the past year and urged the established national party to be more careful and stop constantly criticizing election conduct without proof.

The Electoral Commission stated that each step of the voting process in Haryana was perfect and conducted under the watch of Congress candidates or their representatives. Returning officers from 26 electoral districts carried out a comprehensive re-examination. Congress was given a 1600-page response by Election Commission officials concerning all complaints. The Chief Electoral Officer of Haryana dismissed Congress’ grievances during the assembly elections.

The Election Commission’s decision comes following the Congress party’s concerns about the EVMs showing 99% battery status during the vote counting in Haryana elections, alleging potential manipulation and accusing officials of intentionally prolonging the counting.

Pawan Khera from Congress claimed that there have been reports from Hisar, Mahendragarh, and Panipat stating that BJP won on EVMs with a 99 percent battery, while Congress won on EVMs with 60-70 percent battery. Simultaneously, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh had remarked on understanding the conspiracy where EVMs with 99 percent battery led to BJP winning, while those with less than 70 percent battery resulted in Congress winning. If this isn’t a conspiracy, then what else could it possibly be? He mentioned that there have been complaints about 12 to 14 seats thus far.

The Election Commission was accused by the Congress of serious and obvious irregularities in the election process in 20 assembly constituencies in Haryana. The Congress received complaints from its candidates in various assembly constituencies including Narnaul, Karnal, Dabwali, Rewari, Hodal (SC), Kalka, Panipat City, Indri, Badkhal, Faridabad NIT, Nalwa, Rania, Pataudi (SC), Palwal, Ballabhgarh, Barwala, Uchana Kalan, Gharaunda, Kosli and Badshahpur. Seats in which the party candidates were narrowly defeated in the elections are among those being contested, with Haryana Congress leader Uday Bhan as one of the complainants.
