Amit Shah, the union minister, urged BJP leaders and workers in Maharashtra to settle their internal conflicts before the upcoming state assembly elections. During his third trip to Maharashtra in two weeks, Shah met with BJP MLAs and a small group of party workers in Mumbai.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and Ashish Shelar, who heads the party’s Mumbai unit, attended the meeting in Dadar where Shah spoke to the attendees. BJP sources said he instructed party workers to resolve internal conflicts before the November elections.

Even within a family, individuals may have conflicting views. Shah stated that in case of dissatisfaction with an MLA or Member of Parliament, the party should work on a cordial resolution to retain voters.

He requested that local leaders select ten workers for each polling station. Shah stated that these employees need to stay engaged within the booth’s area of authority from Dussehra until the campaign’s final day.

A company will not prosper if employees are working towards different goals. Shah emphasized the importance of discussing these differences before the elections.

“The BJP state unit will create a plan before the elections.” He said the party workers need to connect with individuals at the ward level to secure our win.

The senior BJP leader also urged workers not to solicit votes while signing up new party members. Avoid requesting new members to support the BJP upon registration. Once they join, they will understand the significance of voting. He mentioned that party workers should aim to increase the number of voters in each booth by 20.

There are specific tasks that nobody desires to take on. Nevertheless, a devoted party member is someone who undertakes such essential responsibilities and finishes them. Conflict arises when individuals begin collaborating. Shah was also cited as saying that we need to be able to resolve our disagreements.

The BJP is a member of the ruling Mahayuti coalition in the state, which also consists of the Shiv Sena and NCP.

Shah recently traveled to the Vidarbha area to interact with party workers and local lawmakers, as well as regions such as North Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Western Maharashtra.

In the state of Maharashtra in 2019, the BJP emerged victorious in 105 of the 164 assembly seats it competed for. It had formed a pre-election partnership with the original Shiv Sena at that time. Out of the 36 assembly seats in Mumbai, the saffron party had secured victory in 16.

However, it performed poorly in the 2024 general elections, managing to win just nine out of the 28 Lok Sabha seats it competed for in the state.
