The political situation in Tamil Nadu is once again very intense. A controversy has arisen here due to the exclusion of the term Dravidian from the state anthem. Chief Minister MK Stalin accused Governor RN Ravi of serious wrongdoing. The Governor provided further explanation on this matter. Yet again, the CM responded to the Governor’s statement.

They must alleviate themselves from government responsibilities and fulfill their duties according to constitutional norms. He also cautioned them against transforming the Raj Bhawan into a headquarters for political parties.

The issue concerns the conclusion event of Doordarshan’s Hindi Mahotsav. The singing of ‘Tamil Thai Vazhthu’ was happening at the event. While this was happening, the word Dravidian was mistakenly omitted from the song, prompting CM MK Stalin to label it as a disrespect to the Tamil language. Stalin stated that the Governor is allergic to Dravidians and the central government needs to promptly dismiss him from his position. Nevertheless, following this, the Governor provided an explanation. Simultaneously, Doordarshan Center has issued an apology while providing an explanation on the matter.

Simultaneously, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin commented that the residents of the state are extremely upset about the situation. He blamed the governor for causing division. He also insisted that the governor be recalled by the central government without delay. On social media, he announced that the ‘DD Tamil’ Hindi Utsav event took place with the attendance of Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi. The phrase ‘Dravida Thirunadu’ was eliminated from the Tamil Thai Vazhthu (state anthem). The people of Tamil Nadu are upset about this.

Simultaneously, Udhayanidhi implied the Governor’s claim that the Chief Minister had tarnished his position by making racist comments, Deputy CM Stalin stated, ‘Our leader (MK Stalin), who embodies Annadurai’s principles, doesn’t require a lesson on ‘dignity’.

CM had previously made this accusation, prompting CM MK Stalin to question whether the Governor would have approved if a certain word was omitted from the national anthem. He labeled this event as a disrespect to Tamil Nadu and the Tamil language and accused Governor Ravi of disregarding the state’s sentiments. Stalin has requested the central government to replace an individual who does not honor Tamil culture and law in their position.

Nevertheless, the claim was rejected by the Governor’s office. His media consultant Thirugnana Sambandam stated that it was an error and the Governor was not involved. He stated that the singers had accidentally omitted the term Dravidian at the start of the show. He mentioned that the organizers were immediately informed and described it as a typical error.

Governor Ravi labeled Stalin’s statement as a ‘racist remark’ in his response. He claimed the Chief Minister falsely accused him and claimed he showed disrespect towards the Tamil song. Ravi stated that he sings ‘Tamil Thai Vazhthu’ in every event with utmost honor and has great respect for the Tamil language.

Stalin questioned what actions the Modi government had taken to support the Tamil language, in response to the Governor’s assertion that Modi had introduced Tamil at the United Nations. The Central government has consistently allocated substantial funds to encourage the growth of Sanskrit.

The Chief Minister inquired why the BJP-led government hasn’t declared Tamil text Thirukkural as the national book if their attachment to Tamil was sincere. He added that if Ravi wishes to remain as Governor, he should distance himself from divisive influences and fulfill his responsibilities in line with constitutional guidelines.

In the meantime, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin mentioned that he didn’t want to escalate the issue as Doordarshan had already apologized.
