BJP in the Gujarat Assembly has made a significant move ahead of the by-election. The party has removed four individuals, including a former MLA.

The cause for being suspended from the party is participating in the by-election. However, these individuals are running in the election as independents rather than on a BJP ticket. It is said that for this reason, these individuals have been led out of the party.

The suspended former MLA from BJP is Mavji Patel. He is running for elections from the Vav assembly seat in Gujarat. He is running as an independent candidate rather than on a party ticket. In addition to him, four other individuals have also been suspended.

Banas Bank’s director Mavji Patel is running against the BJP’s designated candidate Swarupji Thakor. The by-election for the Vav seat was required following Congress MLA Ganiben Thakor’s election to the Lok Sabha. The vote is set to occur on November 13.

Reports suggest that 73-year-old Patel, a member of the Chaudhary community, seeks to damage the BJP by securing votes from this community. Besides Patel, the BJP suspended four additional leaders from Banaskantha as well. The additional suspended leaders include Lalji Bhai Chaudhary, Devji Bhai Patel, Dalrambhai Patel, and Jam Bhai Patel. Thakor is competing against Gulab Singh Rajput from the Congress in the by-election.

The Election Commission has revealed the schedule for the by-election regarding the Vav assembly seat. Following the election on November 13, the vote counting will take place on November 23. The vote outcomes for the Jharkhand and Maharashtra Assembly elections will be tallied on that same day. The Vav assembly constituency is viewed as a bastion of Congress. Genniben Thakor secured this position in 2017 and 2022.
