In New Delhi, Rajnath Singh, a prominent leader of the BJP and the country’s Defence Minister, launched a critique against the INDIA coalition’s members, Congress and AAP, during an electoral rally. Singh accused them of undermining the trust in Indian politics. His comments came at a campaign event for Kamaljeet Sehrawat, the BJP candidate for the West Delhi Lok Sabha seat, just as the campaigning window for the May 25 elections was closing.

Singh specifically called out Congress and A for their role in the perceived crisis, noting their electoral collaboration in Delhi where A is vying for four seats and Congress for three out of the seven Lok Sabha seats. This election is part of the broader, seven-phase general elections.

He also criticized Delhi’s Chief Minister and the leader of A, Arvind Kejriwal, for his unusual situation of governing from jail due to his arrest and imprisonment related to a money laundering case linked to the Delhi excise policy. Kejriwal, who the Supreme Court granted interim bail on May 10, is required to surrender by June 2.

Singh brought up the alleged attack on A’s Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal, condemning Kejriwal’s delayed response and calling for courage and political accountability. He argued that parties like A lack the moral integrity to participate in politics.

Highlighting the achievements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Singh noted India’s leap in the global economic rankings, becoming the fifth largest economy and aiming to be the third. He expressed confidence that by 2070, India would lead the world’s economy, emphasizing the country’s aspiration to become a global superpower dedicated to global welfare, not conquest.

Singh praised the BJP’s actions, including the abolition of Article 370, the cessation of triple talaq, and the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, as evidence of the party’s commitment to its promises.
