PM Narendra Modi is set to visit the US to participate in the Quad Leader’s Summit from September 21-23. During his three-day visit, Modi will also speak at an assembly of the Indian community in New York on September 22, the external affairs ministry announced on Tuesday.

This year, India was scheduled to host the summit; at first, the event was to be held in New Delhi in January. However, when US President Joe Biden declined India’s offer to be the primary guest at the Republic Day celebrations on January 26, the preparations fell through.

It is anticipated that the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit will be the most significant event of the trip.

According to the External Affairs Ministry, PM Narendra Modi will kick off his visit by participating in the Quad Leaders’ Summit, which is being hosted by Biden on September 21 in Wilmington, Delaware. India consented to host the next summit in 2025 after the US side requested to hold it this year.

According to the ministry, the Quad Summit will assess the grouping’s accomplishments from the previous year and establish the plan of action for the upcoming year to help the Indo-Pacific region’s nations realize their aspirations for growth.

The Quad Leaders’ Summit, according to the White House, will prioritize strengthening the strategic convergence of the US, Australia, India, and Japan, furthering their shared goal of an open and free Indo-Pacific, and providing partners in the region with tangible advantages in important sectors.

Maritime security, first-rate infrastructure, essential and developing technology, cybersecurity, health security, responding to natural disasters, and clean and climate energy are some of these topics.

As president, Biden will be hosting international leaders in Wilmington for the first time. Additionally, Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio have decided to resign from their roles, making this the last Quad Summit for them.

PM Narendra Modi will speak at the Summit of the Future at the UN General Assembly in New York on September 23. “Multilateral solutions for a better tomorrow” is the summit’s theme. This summit is anticipated to attract a significant number of international leaders, and PM Narendra Modi will meet one-on-one with a number of them off-site.

Additionally, PM Narendra Modi is anticipated to engage with influential figures and other parties involved in India-US relations.

On September 22, Modi will speak at an assembly of the Indian community while he is in New York. In order to promote cooperation between the two sides in cutting-edge fields like artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, semiconductors, and biotechnology, he will also meet with CEOs of prominent US-based businesses.
