Terrorists have struck Jammu and Kashmir again. This time, a police post was attacked by terrorists on Wednesday. This terror attack comes just 2 days after Monday’s terror attack on an Indian Army convoy in Kathua, Jammu and Kasmhmir. The attack in Kathu left five soldiers dead.

On Wednesday, at 8 PM, the terrorists attacked the Sang Police post in Udhampur’s Basantgarh. After the attack, the police retaliated, causing the terrorists to flee. After the attack on the police post, a cordon and search operation was launched in Basantgarh.

Here’s What The Terrorists Did In The Attack

The terrorists opened fire on the Sangh Police post in Udhampur in the Basantgarh area around 8 PM. However, the alert police officers immediately retialeted, forcing the terrorists to flee the scene. The alert police officers averted what could have been a major tragedy. According to the sources, three heavily armed terrorists were involved in the attack. Earlier, the J&K police had denied the reports of a terror attack on the Sangh Police post.

Basantgarh is at the border with the Kathua district, where an army convoy was ambushed on Wednesday. Following the attack on the police post, a large-scale hunt has been launched by the army and the police to track down and kill the terrorists believed to be hiding in dense forest. More forces will be deployed in the dense forest of Udhampur, Samba, Rajouri, and Poonch districts.

From Reasi To Sang Police Terror Attack

From a terror attack on a passenger bus of Hindu pilgrims in Reasi to the army convoy ambush in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) has seen a surge in terror activities in the last 30 days. This indicates that J&K is again not safe for the civilians, police, and army. Following is the list of terror attacks in J&K in the last one month.

Reasi Attack: On June 9, a passenger bus full of Hindu pilgrims was ambushed by the terrorists in the Reasi district. The terror attack left nine people dead and 41 injured. The terrorists had fired at the bus carrying pilgrims from Shiv Khori temple to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. After the attack, the bus fell into a gorge, and the terrorist kept firing for an hour.

Doda Ambush: In the attack on Monday, five soldiers were killed and five others injured in an ambush by terrorists in the Kathua district. Since June 12, this was the fourth encounter in the Doda district.

Twin Terror Attaccks: On June 26, three terrorists were killed by the security forces during an encounter in a dense forest in Doda district. Following the twin terror attacks, a search operation was launched by the security forces. Amidst the search and cordon operation, an exchange of fire had started in the Bajaad village.

Kathua terror attack: On Monday, two-trucks of military patrol of the Indian Army were ambushed in the Kathus district of Jammu and Kashmir. In the attack, five soldiers were killed and five others injured. The army responded by firing incessantly. The army fired the barrage of over 5,000 rounds on the attacking terrorists, forcing them to flee.

Terror Activities Provoking India

After each terror attack, the army, police, and CRPF launched a cordon and a search operation in the areas where the attack happened. Now, it seems that the search operations and the presence of the army, police, CRPF, and other forces are having no impact on terror activities. The thing is, terror activities have not stopped even though security forces are present in J&K.

How many more civilians, soldiers, and people would J&K have to lose till the terror activities stop? An effective strategy needs to be adopted to prevent terror activities in the state. The recent terror activities have shown that the terrorists are free to do anything they want. Will the terror activities stop or will they increase? Only time will tell.
