Jawaharlal Nehru University is preparing to establish a Center of Excellence named after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This will mark the beginning of a period of comprehending the idea of Akhand Bharat and his fight for Hindavi Swaraj. As per the report by the Indian Express, the Maharashtra government will provide backing for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Security and Strategy at the School of International Studies. In addition to those topics, instruction will also cover Maratha Military History, Shivaji Naval Strategy, and Guerrilla Warfare.

Diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses are set to begin at this center in July 2025. According to Professor Amitabh Mahu, who is the Dean of the School of International Studies at JNU, the inception of this center was proposed by the Vice Chancellor and faculty members, as reported by the Indian Express. The Maharashtra government also desired to recall the ideas and tactics of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Mahu stated that Shivaji was selected to educate on security and strategy when questioned about the decision. We educate on Russian and Chinese philosophers. We also provide instruction on Kautilya and Chanakya. We aimed to incorporate Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his renowned strategic mindset into it. This ensures that the students receive substantial advantages.

The record says that Chhatrapati Shivaji was far advanced in military innovations like Ganimi Kava fortification and naval expansion. There are six courses scheduled for teaching. This encompasses Maratha Grand Strategy, Guerrilla Diplomacy, Strategic Approach to Asymmetric Warfare, Statecraft, and Governance of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and more.

This note states that its main focus is on Chhatrapati Shivaji’s leadership, administrative, and diplomatic qualities. He played a crucial part in the growth of modern India. As per this suggestion, the center is set to have a total of 14 positions consisting of one professor, two associate professors, and four assistant professors.

Additionally, the facility will consist of an administrative building, an IT infrastructure laboratory, a library, and a reading room. In addition to that, they will construct a cutting-edge museum.
