Abbas Ansari, son of Mukhtar Ansari and MLA from Subhaspa in Mau, has received a significant respite from the Supreme Court. He was given bail in the money laundering case by the highest court.
Justice MM Sundaresh and Justice Pankaj Mithal approved his bail request. A notice was sent to the ED by the court in response to Ansari’s petition on August 14. Previously, on May 9, Abbas Ansari’s petition was denied by the Allahabad High Court.
Following this, Ansari contested the High Court’s decision in the Supreme Court. In this instance, Ansari was charged on 4 November 2022. Abbas Ansari is presently incarcerated at Kasganj prison. Abbas Ansari received bail for two cases from the Supreme Court today. Initially, he has been granted bail in the money laundering case. In addition to that, he has been granted bail for illegally visiting his wife while being held in Chitrakoot jail. The court mandated Abbas Ansari to facilitate the investigation.
Simultaneously, the Supreme Court denied bail in the Gangster Act case. The Supreme Court requested that a petition be submitted to the High Court for bail in the Gangster case. Because he did not receive bail in this situation, Abbas Ansari will stay in prison for the time being. Kapil Sibal, the lawyer of Abbas, requested temporary bail for him in the Gangster case. However, the Supreme Court denied the request for temporary release.
The Allahabad High Court was ordered by the Supreme Court to aim to finish the hearing on the gangster case’s bail plea in four weeks. Abbas has been incarcerated for over eighteen months, as stated by his attorney Kapil Sibal. The Gangster Act came into effect on September 4 for Abbas Ansari.
