The Cabinet meeting on Friday was led by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Out of the 24 proposals received, 23 were approved. A ceremony will take place in Prayagraj as per the government’s decision. Planning has been completed to arrange road shows for the Maha Kumbh in India and overseas. The government has approved the extension of the Noida Aqua Metro Line.
The stretch from Noida Sector-51 Metro Station Aqua to Knowledge Park-20 in Greater Noida will be an extension of the metro project. Development authorities have been granted seed capital of over 4 thousand crores for expanding 9 cities in the state. Approval for funds has been given for the construction of the substation and transmission line for the 800 MW solar power plant in Chitrakoot. A decision has been made to shift excess neutral alcohol from GST to VAT. UP will establish a fund for guarantee redemption.
During the cabinet meeting, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna announced the decision to expand the KDA limits by including 80 villages. The aim is to enhance the growth of Kanpur city. This choice was made as part of the Chief Minister Urban Expansion Scheme. A budget of Rs 3,000 crore has been suggested for the improvement of additional urban areas in the state.
50 percent of the money is allocated to 9 development authorities and the Housing Development Council for the purchase of land. A proposal has been approved to provide Rs 4164.16 crore as seed capital to Saharanpur, Mathura-Vrindavan, Firozabad, Shikohabad, Lucknow, Moradabad, Khurja, Banda, and Meerut Development Authority for 14 schemes.
The Finance Minister stated that the government offers loans from financial institutions to sectors such as infrastructure, cooperation, and rural development. A decision has been made to establish a Guarantee Redemption Fund in the state based on the recommendations of the Central Finance Commission, CAG, and CAG. The purpose of it is for covering any department’s default with fund payment. This fund is allocated in 19 states across the country. The state government has secured a commitment of Rs 1,63,399.82 crore for this fund.
It has been decided to revise GST in Uttar Pradesh. Extra Neutral Alcohol has been shifted to VAT from GST. This will lead to a rise in UP’s income. Now Extra Neutral Alcohol will result in a 100 percent revenue benefit. The prices of alcohol in the state will remain unchanged. Bundelkhand has become a significant possibility for solar power.
Currently, there are ongoing projects for solar energy totaling 4 thousand MW. A project with a capacity of 800 MW is currently being built in Chitrakoot. The energy produced from this will be transmitted via India’s Green Energy Corridor managed by the Government of India. To accomplish this, two power lines of 400/220 kilovolts and 500 megavolt-amperes will be constructed. These have been approved. The price will amount to 619.90 crore rupees.
