The Center intervened and requested a report on Friday as the issue surrounding the adulteration of laddus, a component of Tirupati temple, grew more intense. While in office, former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Jagan Mohan Reddy refuted claims that during his time, animal fat was used to prepare Tirupati laddu, and he went on to accuse Chandra Babu Naidu of “playing with the sentiments of devotees for political gains”.
The head of the YSRCP stated that the qualification requirements have not altered in decades and that the tender procedure takes place every six months. “The tender process occurs every six months, and the qualification criteria has not changed for decades. Suppliers must provide an NABL certificate and a product quality certificate. TTD collects samples from the ghee, and only products that pass certification are used,” Reddy stated.
TDP is politicizing religious matters. We have rejected the products in our regime 18 times,” he added.
He further added, “Reddy also announced that he will be writing to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Justice of India explaining Naidu how twisted the facts and why action should be taken against him for having done so… Ultimately, at the end of the day, I myself am writing a letter to the Prime Minister. I am also writing a letter to the Chief Justice of India. I am explaining to them as to how Chandrababu Naidu twisted the facts and why action should be taken against him for having done so.”
Center is now seeking reports.
Union Health Minister JP Nadda responded to the Center’s request for a comprehensive report on the situation by saying that the government will look into it further and take appropriate measures.
JP Nadda, the union minister of health, also requested CM Naidu’s complete report and stated that the government would look into the situation further into the Tirupati Laddu case and take appropriate action.
Nadda stated in a press conference that he spoke with Naidu following the eruption of the controversy and that he also announced engaging with state regulators to ensure a comprehensive inquiry.
“I spoke to Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu after getting information about this and took details from him. I have asked him to share the available report so that I can examine it,” Nadda stated.
