The Cooperative Pavilion was opened at the Sonpur fair in Bihar on Monday. During this event, the program was initiated by Cooperative Minister Dr. Prem Kumar. 4000 square feet. There are twelve stalls that have been arranged in this pavilion. These consist of items from various cooperative societies’ products.
An exhibition and sale event is currently taking place. The goal of this pavilion is to support women’s co-operative societies and prioritize Khadi-weavers committees, emphasizing the importance of cooperation in tourism and community programs.
Numerous items captivate visitors at the displays in the cooperative pavilion. KGN Primary Dhurd Cooperative Society is showcasing items such as woolen garments, shawls, and jumpers. Simultaneously, Rupganj Mahila Khadi Sahayog Samiti is providing Khadi clothes, towels, kurtas, and pajamas. Pragati Swavalambhi Cooperative Society has offered food items such as spices and litti-chokha. At its stall, Shri Mithila Makhana Kisan Sangathan showcased Makhana and its products.
Vegfed is equipping farmers with seeds and knowledge about vegetable farming. Furthermore, Sahakara Bank has advertised its programs and encouraged individuals to open a greater number of accounts. Promoting women’s cooperative societies has increased the visibility of their products, leading to improved income and employment opportunities for members.
A street performance was also arranged at the cooperative hall. The significance and structures of cooperatives were presented in a captivating manner. The cooperative department made an effort to connect with the general public. Through these events, individuals are being educated on the advantages of cooperative societies and their goals.
Within the program, Dr. Prem Kumar, the Cooperative Minister, emphasized that cooperatives serve as an effective channel to extend the government’s initiatives to all segments of the population. He restated his determination to establish Bihar as a frontrunner in the area of cooperatives. Sonpur MLA Dr. Ramanand Prasad and numerous senior officials from the Cooperative Department were also in attendance at the event. The effective coordination of the program was a significant stride in expanding the scope of cooperatives.
